A Quiet Weekend with Ted the Olde English Bulldogge

This weekend has been one of those slow, cosy ones. The kind where not much happens… but somehow everything still feels productive.

Behind the scenes I’m in the final stages of publishing a brand new Ted book, which is always a really exciting moment.

The writing, illustrations and endless little tweaks are nearly finished, and I’ve started thinking about the next step: how to get Ted’s story out into the world.

Self-publishing is a funny journey. One minute you’re quietly writing a story at home with a dog snoring at your feet, and the next you’re trying to figure out marketing, websites, and how people might discover your books.

One thing that has been really fun lately is TikTok. I’ve posted a few short videos of Ted and they’ve actually started getting some lovely engagement.

A few thousand views here and there, a few hundred likes, and even some new followers from the Olde English Bulldogge community, along with plenty of other dog lovers too.

It’s been really nice seeing people connect with Ted. He’s always been a bit of a character, and it seems like the internet agrees.

One of the videos even influenced me to buy Ted a new dog shampoo from a TikTok shop recommendation. Apparently it’s meant to be brilliant for sensitive skin and bulldog wrinkles, so we’ll be giving that a try next time Ted has his shower. I’ll definitely report back with a full review… although knowing Ted, he’ll mostly be focused on escaping the bathroom and shaking water everywhere.

Aside from that, it’s been a very quiet weekend here. No big adventures, just lots of snuggles, wet-nose kisses, and the comforting sound of Ted snoring nearby while I work away on book pages.

Sometimes those are the best kinds of weekends.
The exciting part is knowing that somewhere inside all these quiet moments, a brand new Ted story is almost ready to begin its journey.

And I can’t wait to share it with you soon.
